Case Study: the Effects of Television and Media Influence
Because of geographical limitations, a rural town in British Columbia was unable to gain access to any means of television service. This was until new technology was developed in the mid 1980’s that would finally bring the wonders of television to the small town. But what effect would this sudden change have on a society that had managed to sustain itself through the 80’s with no television.
The site became a case study for media influence on children and society. The town received the code name Notel, and a year long experiment began.
